Emma is the Partner with overall responsibility for the commercial legal services of Forbes Solicitors.

Emma is also the Head of Commercial Employment in the Employment, HR and Business Immigration Team based across Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds.

Emma takes a dynamic and pragmatic approach to finding workable commercial solutions for clients. She is highly driven and valued by clients not only as an employment lawyer, but also as a business adviser who is accessible and attentive.

Emma is responsible for the strategic direction of the commercial legal services, including the commercial employment practice, developing and expanding the team's offering to the commercial sector across the North West. She also maintains key client and referrer relationships on behalf of the team and the firm as a whole.

Emma has considerable experience and expertise throughout employment law practice, including:

  • Strategic level advice on restructures, transfers, mergers and acquisitions;

  • Advising on TUPE, particular expertise in service provision changes;

  • Highly experienced advocate, representing clients in Employment Tribunal cases;

  • Managing day-to-day HR issues, particularly involving discrimination; and

  • Providing practical and strategic training to business owners, directors, management and HR teams.

Emma advises and assists private sector clients, from local SMEs to large multinational PLCs. She has a particular expertise in the manufacturing and construction industries, as well as the hospitality and retail sectors.
